# Guide Map: Use HyPanels In Different Modes

During the initial setup, you can choose whether to use HyPanel devices in **Local Mode** or **Cloud Mode**, depending on your network environment.

## Local Mode

Choose **Local Mode** (some versions show as **Auto Discovery**) when devices operate only within the local area network (LAN).

In this mode:

- Devices are detected and controlled over LAN.
- Users log in to the BelaHome app with the default local family administrator account *(Admin888/Admin888)*.
- App control is limited to LAN only.

## Cloud Mode

Choose **Cloud Mode** (some versions show as **Installation Code**) when:

- Devices always have internet access.
- Installers have already created a project on akubela Cloud and obtained installation codes.

In this mode:

- Devices connect to the Cloud by entering installation codes during setup.
- Users can either self-register a family administrator account or have their service provider create one.
- Remote control through the BelaHome app is enabled.

## Connect Local Devices to the Cloud Later

If devices were initially set up in Local Mode due to lack of internet, but internet access becomes available later, you can migrate them to Cloud Mode.

### 3.Register a Family Administator Account

Once connected to the Cloud, local accounts become invalid. Users can either self-register a family administrator account or have their service provider create one.
