# Obtain IP Address via IP Scanner

An IP scanner allows you to search the device's IP address(es) and perform targeted device reboot, reset, network settings, etc.

>   - Windows 7 operating system (64 bits) or above.
>   - Turn off the firewall on your personal computer.

## Installation

a. Click **Next** to start the installation.

b. Check to accept the terms of the license agreement, and click **Next**.

c. Enter the User Name and Company Name, and click **Next**.

d. Select the desired setup type and click **Next**.

e. Finish the installation. The IP scanner icon will appear on the desktop.

f. Initiate the software and select the Network Interface Card(NIC) to connect with devices. The IP address will be displayed after you select your NIC.

> If your computer does not install NPCAP, please follow the system instructions to finish the installation before using the IP scanner.

## Obtain IP Address

> Note
> 
> To obtain the device IP address, your personal computer should be in the same LAN as the device.

- You can click **Refresh** to update the list if the desired device information is not displayed.
- When there are many devices, you can search for the target devices by selecting specific models and entering specific MAC Address, Room Number, or Firmware Version in the Search box.

## Additional Features

Apart from checking IP address(es), with the IP scanner, you can export the device information, configure the device’s network, remotely access the device, etc.

### Set Multiple Devices in Static IP Mode

Click **Set Static IP** to set multiple devices in Static IP mode.

Check the desired devices and click OK.

The configuration result will be displayed in the Status column.

### Change a Specific Device’s Network Information

1. Click a specific row to change the desired device’s network settings.
2. Set the device in DHCP or static IP mode.

DHCP mode allows the device to obtain network information automatically.

In static IP mode, enter manually the IP address, gateway, subnet mask, primary DNS, and secondary DNS(Optional).
3. Enter the device’s username and password, both admin by default.
4. Click **Update** to confirm the change.

### Remotely Access, Reset and Reboot a Device

1. Click the row of the target device.
2. Enter the device’s username and password, both admin by default.
3. Click **Browse** to redirect to the device’s web interface;

Click **Reboot** to reboot the device;

Click **Reset** to reset the device to the factory settings.
