# Configure and Use Akuvox Wireless Controller EP10

The wireless controller EP10 provided by Akuvox can be used to trigger functions such as making a call, opening the door, or triggering an emergency call. This is particularly useful for the elderly and children who may need assistance in an emergency.

> 
> The working distance between the EP10 and the indoor monitor is up to 30 meters in buildings.

## What You Should Know

- S567 and C319 support working with the EP10.
- The S567’s version should be 567.30.114.401 or later.

## C319/S567

### Pair a Wireless Controller

1. On the device screen, tap **Settings > Advance Settings > RF Settings**. The default password to access advanced settings is **123456**.
2. Tap the bar icon of the desired RF Key.

1. Tap **Learning** while long-pressing the EP10.

When successfully matched, a prompt "RF Key X Learned" will pop up, and a green link icon will appear on the right side of the RF Key.

### Make an Assistance Call

To use the EP10 to make an assistance call, configure the target SOS number(s) first.

1. Tap **Settings > Advance Settings > SOS**.
2. Enter the target SIP/IP numbers and tap **Save**.

Then, configure the calling feature.

1. On the **Settings > Advance Settings > RF Settings** screen, tap **Edit** of the added RF Key.
2. In the Short Press When Idle and/or Long Press When Idle fields, select **Assistance Call**.

- **Short Press When Idle**: When users press the EP10 once, the device will make a call to the target SOS number.
- **Long Press When Idle**: When users long-press the EP10, the device will make a call to the target SOS number.

1. Tap **Confirm** to save the configuration.

After the configuration, users can press the EP10 to call.

### Open the Door

Configure the door-opening method before assigning the EP10 to the unlock function.

#### Before You Start

Complete the door-opening configuration required for the intended use:

- **When the indoor monitor is in standby:** Set up the HTTP command for door opening. See [Open Door via HTTP Command](/v1/docs/open-door-via-http-command).
- **During a call:** Set up one of the supported relay methods, such as HTTP, DTMF, or Web Relay. See [Open Door via HTTP Command](/v1/docs/open-door-via-http-command), [Open the Door via DTMF](/v1/docs/how-to-open-the-door-via-dtmf-on-the-indoor-monitor), or [Configure Web Relay](/v1/docs/configure-webrelay-on-indoor-monitors).

#### Open the Door when the Device is on Standby

1. On the **Settings > Advance Settings > RF Settings** screen, tap **Edit** of the added RF Key.
2. In the Long Press When Idle field, select **Unlock**.

1. Tap **Confirm** to save the configuration.

After configuration, users can press and hold the EP10 to open the door when the indoor monitor is in standby mode.

#### Open the Door during a Call

**On the Web Interface**

1. Navigate to the device IP address in a browser. Log in with the username and password(admin/admin by default).
2. Navigate to the **Device > Relay > SoftKey in Talking Page** interface.
3. Enable the desired softkey and select the configured relay type.

1. Click Submit.

**On the Device Screen**

1. On the **Settings > Advance Settings >** **RF Settings** screen, tap **Edit** of the added RF Key.
2. Set **Long Press During Call** to the configured unlock button.

After configuration, users can press and hold the EP10 to open the door during a call.
