# What Is the Difference Between a Distributor Account, Sub Account, and Sub-Distributor Account?

## Distributor Account

A Distributor (Dis) account is the primary account for a distributor on the cloud platform. It has access to all projects, installers, and data belonging to that distributor.

## Sub Account

A Sub Account is an additional login credential created under a Distributor account. It is not a separate role — it shares the same data and permissions as the parent Distributor account.

Key characteristics:

- Operates on the same data as the parent Distributor account.
- Has the same access permissions as the parent Distributor account.
- Allows multiple users to log in simultaneously without displacing each other.
- Cannot exist independently of the parent Distributor account.

Use Sub Accounts when multiple team members need concurrent access to the same Distributor account.

## Sub-Distributor Account

A Sub-Distributor (Sub-Dis) is an independent second-tier distributor role. It is not a login credential under another account — it is a separate entity with its own data.

Key characteristics:

- Has its own projects and installers.
- Operates independently from the parent Distributor.
- Data is not shared with the parent Distributor account.

| | Distributor Account | Sub Account | Sub-Distributor Account |
