Open the Door via Finger Key

R29C-T and S535, with a fingerprint module installed, support opening the door via fingerprint. The finger key works when assigned to a user.

The fingerprint can be registered on the device or on the SmartPlus Cloud platform.

On-Premise Configuration

On the Web Interface

  1. Log in to the device’s web interface with the username and password. The default is admin.

  2. Navigate to the Directory > User interface. Click +Add.

  3. Customize the user ID and enter the user name.

  1. Scroll to the Finger section and click Obtain.

  1. Place the user’s finger that is used to open the door in the fingerprint reader area.

    The same fingerprint needs to be recorded three times.

  1. Scroll to Access Settings and specify the relay and door-opening schedule.

    • Relay: Specify the relay(s) to be unlocked using the door opening methods assigned to the user.

    • Schedule: Grant the user access to open designated doors during preset periods by relocating the desired schedule(s) from the left box to the right one. Besides custom schedules, there are 2 default options:

     - Always: Allows door opening without limitations on door open counts during the valid period.

     - Never: Prohibits door opening.

  1. Click Submit to save the setting.

On the Device Screen

The finger key can also be assigned to a user on the device screen directly.

  1. On the Dial screen, enter 9999 and 3888 to access the device settings.

  2. Tap User in the Settings and tap Add.

  3. Set up the user’s basic information and record the same fingerprint three times.

  1. Scroll to select the door and schedule for opening the door.

  1. Tap Save.

When the user puts the registered finger on the fingerprint reader area, the door will open.

SmartPlus Cloud Configuration

Enrolling fingerprints on the cloud requires using the Akuvox fingerprint reader ACR-CID13. The finger keys can be issued to the door phone S535 and R29CT for door opening.

  • For SmartPlus community projects, property managers can enroll residents’ fingerprints.

  • For Smart Access commercial projects(created after October 15, 2024), installers, project managers, and administrators can enroll fingerprints for personnel.

The following configuration takes a PM account as an example.

Note

  • S535’s firmware version should be 535.30.10.236 and higher.

  • R29CT’s firmware version should be 29.30.10.607 and higher, and hardware version should be 29.3.12 and higher.

For Community Projects

  1. Connect the device to your computer via USB.

  2. Log in to the SmartPlus Cloud with your account.

  3. Click Resident on the left column.

  4. Click New to add a resident; click to modify an existing one.

  5. Find the Access Type section.

  6. Click and click Enter fingerprint.

  1. Select the device on the pop-up window and click Connect.

  1. Place the user’s finger on the ACR-CID13. Collect the same fingerprint continuously three times. The green indicator light flashes upon each collection.

After enrollment, the Fingerprint status will change to Enrolled.

When the user puts the registered finger on the door phone’s fingerprint reader area, the door will open.

For Commercial Projects

1. Log in to the cloud with your account.

2. Click User > Personnel in the left column.

3. Click New Personnel to add a user; click to modify a current one.

4. Clicknext to Fingerprint.

5. Click Enter fingerprint.

6. Select the device in the pop-up window and click Connect.

7. Place the user’s finger on the fingerprint reader. Collect the same fingerprint continuously three times. The green indicator light flashes upon each collection.

After enrollment, the Fingerprint status will change to Uploaded.

When the user puts the registered finger on the door phone’s fingerprint reader area, the door will open.

Note

If opening the door fails, please check whether the user is in an access group that allows him/her to open the door during the scheduled time
