This issue occurs because the physical positions of the CALL and CANCEL buttons were changed in a hardware design update of the R28. If the device button setting does not match the hardware layout, the buttons may function in reverse.
Check and adjust the button position setting on the device web interface.
Log in to the R28 web interface.
Navigate to Intercom > Advanced.
Find the Key Code Exchange option.
Select the correct setting:
Enabled: CANCEL button is on the upper position.
Disabled: CALL button is on the upper position.

Click Submit.
